Welcome!

I will use this medium to chronicle my progress as a first time author seeking to write two books about Jimmy Buffett. While the subject matter is the same, these books will provide completely different perspectives.

Bob Liberman, with whom I am serving as co-author, was Jimmy’s tour manager for well over a decade, while Jimmy progressed from playing in clubs and at colleges to performing in large arenas as the headliner. Bob has stories of his time with Jimmy that only he can tell, tentatively titled “I HAD To Be There - Jimmy Buffett Stories From the Early Daze.”

My own story is a photo-heavy memoir as a lifelong, super-fan from 1976, who only met Jimmy twice. I went out on the road for a 3-concert, 5-day hitchhiking, photographer’s adventure at 20, which literally changed the direction of my life. My story, “Thank You Jimmy Buffett” will show how his words and music guided my life for nearly 50 years, while pursuing my Labors of Love.

This effort is NOT intended to ask subscribers “should I tell our stories this way or that way.” Instead, I intend to share my progress in writing both these books, but also focused on finding an agent or publisher as a first-time author, followed by publication decisions, marketing efforts, and eventually sales success.

I invite Jimmy’s fans, my own friends, and anyone with an interest in writing to join me on this journey, as I am confident it will be one you will enjoy.
