I HAD to be there, yet again, especially with the possibility that photos I had taken several decades earlier might be shown on the back video wall. And they were! Six of them, spanning my entire life following Jimmy and shooting photos at concerts from 1977 - 2021. That’s a span of 44 YEARS!
Wow! I love that your photos were used on the wall! I enjoyed them as I watched videos and clips of the concert. Quite an achievement! Looking forward to everything you’re planning!
Thank you Chris for sharing your amazing photo journey with us. Congrats on having some of them shown at the tribute concert. I have loved Jimmy Buffett since
the summer of 1977 when he opened for The Eagles. Your photos are a time capsule of a special man that touched so many lives.
Thanks for the kind words Julie! My first JB concert was also 1977 when he opened for the Eagles in Springfield, MA! Agree 100% - a VERY special and unique man!
Chris, this is why I signed up to be a Patron, behind the scene stories and pics. How exciting for you!
Now I see a better connection of the song Columbus on newest album. Would be interesting to know more of his history with Ohio (Cincinnati already made famous by Fins!)
Thanks for all your support Debbie. No insight into the song Columbus, though I do know Jimmy had a deep following in Ohio, not only in Cincy, but apparently there is an outdoor amphitheater that he would regularly sell out. Bob Liberman told me about in response to a question I once asked him: "Was there ever a particular milestone reached that Jimmy felt like he had made it? Gross at the box office? Reaching a certain number of ticket sales? Anything of note?" Bob told me of the amphitheater and how one year, it was half full with some people on the lawn, the next year, the seating was full, the following year, complete sell-out, then 2 straight nights. Perfect example of his growing popularity at that point.
Wow, fantastic that you have all these photos memories and words with Jimi and the band love reading your stories. Love your pictures being a photographer myself photos don’t become important after the fact and I know because I filmed weddings for 20 years. Great job.
Thank you Paul. It was a wondrous ride following Jimmy. Photographer freeze moments in the present to share the past in the future. As you know. Same with video.
Thanks Eugenia! That is amazing that your husband was there so long ago, as it wasn't that big of an arena. LOVE that photo from Columbus, especially now that it has been used on the great video wall.
Mission accomplished friend! Jimmy's smiling

Thank you! It was THE highlight of my trek to the Tribute and a night full of special moments.

So happy for you! I love the photos! Especially happy to see that the Columbus photo made the cut, since Husband was at that concert. Bravo!
